Trail Description

Platt Preserve Northern Approach

The Platt Preserve can be hiked from either the northern or southern directions. Either way, the trail leads you through a wooded forest, across small streams, to see quarry rubble and other scenic forest sites. There is a rocky overlook above the larger, northern-most stream.  Also along the trail in the northern section, is a once-tall oak tree that was struck by lightning.  The trunk is still standing but was dramatically shattered by the lightning bolt.  Look on the Photo page to see a picture.

When visiting these parcels, please respect the posted regulations.
